City rules

How Broward cities compare on bulk trash pickup

Broward has no single bulk trash rule. Each city contracts its own hauler and sets its own limit, from 6 cubic yards in Hollywood and Hallandale Beach to 15 in Davie. Here is what each city's own pages say, read in September 2026.

CityWho collectsHow muchHow often
HollywoodWaste Pro, under a city contract to 20296 cubic yards per pickupOnce a month, by zone (30 zones)
Hallandale BeachThe city's own Public Works Sanitation DivisionUp to 6 cubic yards freeOnce a month on Mondays, by section of the city

Drop-off

Where can Broward residents drop off junk themselves?

Broward County runs three residential drop-off centers, open Saturdays: North at 2780 N. Powerline Rd in Pompano Beach, Central at 5490 Reese Rd in Davie, and South at 5601 W. Hallandale Beach Blvd in West Park. They take bulk and yard waste only from participating cities, including Hollywood, Davie, Dania Beach, Hallandale Beach and West Park, with photo ID and proof of address. The county lists 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Hollywood's page says 8 to 4, so check before you go.

A few things to know: trucks bigger than a full-size pickup and trailers over 8 feet are turned away, and businesses may not use the centers. Rocks, dirt and construction debris go to the Broward County Landfill at 7101 SW 205th Ave, which charges by the ton. Hollywood's own disposal directory lists where each material goes.

If loading your own truck and waiting in line on a Saturday is not an option, we carry it out and haul it for you.

Can a Broward County resident use the county drop-off centers?
Only if your city participates. Hollywood, Davie, Dania Beach, Hallandale Beach and West Park residents can take bulk and yard waste on Saturdays with photo ID and proof of address. Pembroke Pines lists no resident drop-off.
Why won't my Broward city take my construction debris?
Most Broward cities exclude construction materials from curbside bulk. Hollywood refuses drywall, tile, concrete and wooden fencing, and Miramar refuses roofing, tile and concrete. We haul construction debris of any size.

The Broward County Landfill at 7101 SW 205th Ave takes bulk, yard trash and construction debris from inside Broward for a fee by the ton, Monday to Saturday. It does not take household garbage or hazardous waste.
