Do you take box springs and bed frames too?
Yes. A bed usually goes as a set, so the mattress, the box spring and the frame all leave in the same trip. Frames that will not clear a doorway in one piece get taken apart in the room.

Will the city of Hollywood take my mattress?
Yes, if you live in a single-family home or a duplex. Mattresses are on the list of items Hollywood's monthly bulk collection accepts, within the 6 cubic yard limit, on your zone's date. The pile goes in the alley if you have one and on the swale if you do not, and it can go out no more than 24 hours before pickup (City of Hollywood sanitation).
Three things send people to a hauler instead. Condos, apartment buildings and businesses are not on the city's bulk service and must hire a private hauler. A mattress put out too early can bring a notice, and if it is not fixed in 24 hours the city removes it and bills the disposal plus a $200 administration fee. And the date belongs to your zone, so a mattress that has to go before a new one arrives can wait up to a month.
Mattress pickup rules in the towns around Hollywood
Most cities nearby list mattresses as a bulk item, but who qualifies and how often the truck comes differ. Yes. Walk-ups, outside stairwells and high-rise elevators are ordinary jobs, and a queen or king goes down a stairwell on its side. Tell us the floor and whether there is an elevator, and we plan the crew around it.

What happens to old mattresses in Broward?
Mattress recycling is thin in South Florida. The mattress industry's own recycling program, Bye Bye Mattress, runs only in California, Oregon, Connecticut and Rhode Island. For a mattress that is still clean, Habitat for Humanity's Broward ReStore in Fort Lauderdale accepts mattresses and box springs without stains, tears or odors. Goodwill's South Florida donation centers do not take them.
Most used mattresses do not meet a charity's standard, so they go for disposal. The mattresses we haul go to a licensed disposal facility. If yours is nearly new and should be offered to a charity first, say so when you book.
