Why won't the city take my furniture from a Hollywood condo?
Because Hollywood's bulk pickup is only for single-family homes and duplexes. The city lists condos, apartments and other multi-family buildings as an open market, so each building hires its own trash service, and that service is set up for bags, not for a sleeper sofa or a dining set.
The building usually closes the other doors too. Association rules in some towers bar owners from leaving furniture in the trash room or beside the dumpster, and some bill the owner when the association has to haul it away. The gap runs along the coast: Hallandale Beach gives free bulk pickup only to buildings of four units or fewer, and larger buildings pay a fee for it.

What does my condo building need from a junk hauler?
Usually three things: proof of insurance, a service elevator booking, and a job done inside weekday working hours. The towers from Hollywood Beach to Galt Ocean Mile that publish their contractor rules mostly follow the same pattern. Each association writes its own rules, so the details change from one building to the next, but this is what most towers here ask for:
- A certificate of insurance before any work starts, often with the association named on it
- The service elevator booked ahead, anywhere from 48 hours to two weeks
- A refundable deposit, usually $150 to $500, sometimes with a smaller elevator fee
- Weekday hours only, starting at 8 or 9 a.m. and finished by late afternoon
- No Sunday work at all, and at most a Saturday morning
- The hauler takes every bit of debris away, never the chutes, trash room or dumpster
Can you send my building a certificate of insurance?
Yes. Before the job date, a certificate of insurance goes to your management office naming the association as the building asks. Send us three things when you book: the management office's email, the association's exact legal name and address, and any extra wording they want, such as the managing agent listed as well. The front desk then has it on file when the truck arrives.
Some management companies register vendors through an online portal first, and that can take a week or two. If your building works that way, tell us early so the paperwork is not the thing that holds up your move-out.
Can you work around my building's move-in hours?
Yes. We book the job inside the building's window, not ours. The elevator booking goes through your management office, so we give you the date, the time window and roughly how long we need the elevator for, and you pass that to the office.
A single couch takes one trip down. A full unit takes several, so a cleanout can hold the elevator for a good part of the morning. Some towers also limit how long a truck may stand at the loading dock, or bar trucks from parking on the property at all. Tell us what the front desk says about the dock, and we plan the trips so nobody is waiting on us.
How a condo junk removal job runs in Hollywood, in 4 steps
- Step 1
Photo and building name
Text photos to (305) 764-2597 with the building's name and your floor. We quote from the pictures.
- Step 2
Paperwork first
Your management office gets our insurance certificate. You book the service elevator for the window we agree.
- Step 3
Down in trips
We carry everything from the unit to the elevator and out to the truck, keeping the hallway clear.
- Step 4
Swept and gone
We sweep the unit and haul it all away. Nothing is left in the trash room or by the dumpster.
Condo move-outs and snowbird cleanouts in Hollywood
We clear units before a sale, before a new tenant, and at either end of the season. Seasonal owners may want old furniture gone before they close the unit for the summer, or before new pieces arrive in the fall. Either way, the old pieces have to go down the service elevator on a weekday, which is hard to arrange from out of state.
You do not have to be there. The front desk, a neighbor or your property manager can let us in; tell us who when you book. For single pieces, see furniture removal and mattress removal. For a parent's unit being cleared after a death or a move to care, estate cleanout covers how we work with families.

Building managers: one call for several units
A condo manager can book several units, a storage room or the common areas in one call. Abandoned items in storage cages and bike rooms, pool furniture past its best, a lobby being refurnished, a unit left full after a sale: each part is priced by the truck space it takes, and the whole visit is booked inside the building's own vendor rules. Since you already know those rules, planning is quick.
For office and retail tenants in mixed-use buildings, see commercial junk removal.
How much truck space a condo job takes
A condo job is priced like any other: by how much of the truck it fills. The elevator and the carry from the unit to the truck are planned into the quote, which is why we ask for the floor. These are rough guides; a photo gets the exact number.
One piece
A sofa, a mattress set, or a balcony table and chairs.
A room
A bedroom set, or a living room of furniture.
Most of a unit
The furniture and boxes from a one-bedroom unit.
A full unit
A two- or three-bedroom unit, emptied for a sale.
Send a photo and your floor to (305) 764-2597 and you get the exact price before we lift anything.
