City of Miramar bulk trash pickup, and what it refuses
Miramar's bulk pickup comes 12 times a year, once a month on your collection day, and is run by Waste Pro under a city franchise. The city publishes no general size limit. What it does publish is a long list of refused items, and two different answers on how early a pile can go out, depending on whose page you read. Here is what the city says.

What Miramar residents call a hauler for
With no size cap, the limits in Miramar are what the crew will not take and when a pile is allowed to sit out. These jobs fall outside the city pickup:
- Tile, concrete, bricks, stones and roofing from a bathroom or patio redo (see construction debris removal)
- More than 3 cubic yards of contractor waste, or any contractor waste without an active city permit
- TVs, computers and other electronics
- Refrigerators, freezers and other appliances with no placard certifying them refrigerant and Freon free
- Anything that needs to go during a hurricane watch or warning, when nothing may be set out
- Loads that nobody in the house can carry to the curb
Junk removal in Miramar during hurricane season
Miramar's city code bars bulk trash from being put out, or left out, while a hurricane watch or warning is in effect. The Atlantic season runs from June 1 to November 30. A garage clear-out or a patio of old furniture planned for the monthly pickup can end up sitting on the property for as long as a storm threat lasts, and a pile already on the swale is not allowed to stay there.
A hauler takes the timing out of it. We load from the garage, the patio or the side yard, so nothing has to wait at the curb for the monthly date. That includes loose items around the yard, such as old patio sets and broken fence panels. After a storm, the city sets its own debris schedule. If you would rather not wait for it, send a photo. When can you put bulk trash out in Miramar?
The city's bulk collection page says up to seven days before your pickup, and the city code, as updated in November 2025, says the same. Waste Pro's own Miramar page says 24 hours. A pile set out the evening before your collection day satisfies both. The truck can come any time between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., so the pile has to be ready from the morning.
Appliances are the other catch. Miramar collects them only with a placard showing they are certified refrigerant and Freon free, which means paying a technician before the pickup. Lumber, fencing and limbs are accepted, but limbs have to be cut to 6 feet or shorter. We take refrigerators, freezers and washers as they are. How long it takes us to reach you in Miramar
Miramar stretches a long way west, so the drive depends on your end of the city. The east side, near University Drive, is about 15 minutes from our Hollywood base with no traffic. The far west, out Miramar Parkway past I-75, is about 34. We book a pickup window and text you when the truck is on its way.
