Davie's collection is run by Coastal Waste & Recycling, and the town requires every home and business to use Coastal for solid waste. Houses get a monthly bulk pickup on a set weekday in one of 24 zones, and a pile can be as large as 15 cubic yards, the largest published limit in Broward near Hollywood, matched only by Plantation. Condos and multifamily buildings are on a slower cycle of four pickups a year. The town's rules are below.

What Davie's bulk pickup leaves for a hauler
The gaps in Davie's pickup are about timing, building type and a handful of items:
- Condo and apartment owners, who can wait up to three months between pickups
- Refrigerators and AC units that a certified dealer has not emptied of Freon
- TVs, computers and other electronics, which the town sends to the county drop-off
- Piles bigger than about 15 by 7 by 4 feet, which Coastal bills as a special pickup
- Contractor material from a condo remodel, which the condo pickup refuses (see construction debris removal)
- A load that has to go before your zone's weekday comes round
Junk removal for Davie condos and apartment buildings
Condominiums and multifamily buildings with dumpsters in Davie are on their own bulk schedule: four collection windows a year, each three days long. According to the town's condo bulk page, the 2026 windows are February 5-7, May 7-9, August 6-8 and November 5-7, and contractor material is not collected on any of them. A unit cleared out in late September either holds its old furniture until November or needs a private hauler.

Using Broward County's drop-off on Reese Road in Davie
Broward County's central drop-off center is in Davie, at 5490 Reese Road. The town's 2026 service guide sends household hazardous waste, electronics and tires there, on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with up to five tires a load.
That works for a few paint cans and an old printer. It does not help with a sectional that will not fit in the car, or with an old refrigerator. Davie takes refrigerators and AC units as bulk only once a certified hazardous waste dealer has emptied the Freon, and the town also wants rock, asphalt and earth in a hard-bottomed container rather than loose on the swale. The town also allows one week to clear the swale before a pile becomes a code violation.

How far Davie is from our Hollywood base
The middle of Davie is about 15 minutes from us without traffic, and the west end, out toward I-75, is about 33. State Road 7 and Florida's Turnpike both run north out of Hollywood into Davie. Weekday traffic can stretch those times, so we set a window for the pickup and text when we are close.
