What Dania Beach's bulk pickup takes, and what it leaves

Dania Beach's bulk trash is collected by WM (Waste Management) once a month, with the city's Public Services Department overseeing it. The city is split into six zones, one for each weekday from Monday to Saturday, and a home gets up to 6 cubic yards picked up on its zone's date. The city's bulk pickup page puts one cubic yard at about the size of a washing machine.

Homes here

Junk removal for Dania Beach condos and mobile homes

Dania Beach has a wider mix of housing than most of its neighbors. Census estimates for 2020 to 2024 put about 41% of its homes in buildings of five or more units, about 30% in single-family houses, and about 12% in mobile homes.

Each kind changes the job. Condo and apartment buildings of five or more units are outside the city's bulk service, so a sofa or a whole unit goes with a private hauler, usually in a time slot the building sets. In a mobile home park, lots are tight and the park office has its own rules about what can sit by the street, so ask the office before you put anything out. A single-family house west of I-95 is the simplest: we back up to the driveway and carry it out.

For a full unit, see condo junk removal. For one or two pieces, furniture removal covers it.

Drop-off options

Where Dania Beach residents can drop off junk themselves

Dania Beach takes part in Broward County's drop-off program, and the city's own page says residents can use any of the county's three centers for bulk trash, yard waste, electronics and household hazardous waste. Using them does not cost you your monthly pickup. The South drop-off center at 5601 W. Hallandale Beach Boulevard in West Park is the closest. All three open on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and you need a photo ID and a document showing your Dania Beach address, such as a utility bill or a tax bill.

Concrete, tile and other construction debris go to the Broward County Landfill on SW 205th Avenue instead, which charges $100 a ton under its 2026 rate sheet. Our Broward County drop-off guide lists every site and what each one refuses.

Storm season

Bulk pickup in Dania Beach when a storm is coming

Dania Beach warns that bulk waste service may be interrupted or suspended before a storm because of high winds, and its disaster page says all curbside waste service stops up to 48 hours before landfall. A bulk pile put out in that window can sit through the storm, and loose furniture on a swale is the kind of thing wind picks up. The city's storm page carries the current notice.

If a pile has to go before a storm, the safer move is to have it hauled away rather than set out. Hurricane season runs from June 1 to November 30.

Old furniture in Dania Beach: worth a look before it goes

Dania Beach calls itself Broward County's first city, and for decades it was known as the Antique Capital of the South, with dealers along Federal Highway on what is still called Antique Row. Galleries and vintage shops remain there. If an old dresser or a set of chairs might be worth something, it costs nothing to ask one of them before booking a pickup.

Most of what people clear out is not antique, and usable pieces in good shape can be set aside for donation when we load, though each charity decides what it accepts. Our furniture donation pickup guide lists the Broward charities that collect furniture themselves.

Getting to you

Getting to you in Dania Beach

Dania Beach is the next city north of Hollywood, so it is one of our shortest drives: about 8 minutes and 3 miles from our base on Grant Street to City Hall on West Dania Beach Boulevard, with no traffic. We come up Sheridan Street and Federal Highway, or Dixie Highway for the western neighborhoods. The airport and Port Everglades sit on the city's northern edge, and the beach and the marina are east over the Intracoastal.

Fort Lauderdale is just past the airport, and it has its own Fort Lauderdale junk removal page.

FAQ

Dania Beach junk removal questions

When is bulk trash pickup in Dania Beach?
Once a month, on your zone's day. Dania Beach has six zones, collected Monday through Saturday in the same week each month; the remaining 2026 weeks are October 12 to 17, November 9 to 14 and December 14 to 19. The zone map is on the city's bulk pickup page, and the pile can go out no earlier than 24 hours before your day.
Does Dania Beach pick up bulk trash from condos?
No, not from buildings of five or more units. The city's bulk pickup covers homes and buildings of up to four units, and commercial and multifamily buildings are left out. Owners in larger buildings need a private hauler for furniture and cleanouts. We carry the pieces out of the unit, within whatever time slot the building sets.
Can Dania Beach residents use the Broward County drop-off centers?
Yes. Dania Beach is a participating city, so residents can take bulk trash, yard waste, electronics and household hazardous waste to any of Broward's three drop-off centers on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Bring a photo ID and proof of your Dania Beach address. The South center in West Park is the closest.
Will Dania Beach bulk pickup take an old toilet or tile?
No. Dania Beach's bulk pickup refuses construction and demolition debris, and the city names concrete, tile, drywall, toilets and sinks. Roofing, glass, tires and boat or car parts are refused too. Renovation debris can go to the Broward County Landfill for a fee, or with a hauler who takes construction debris.
How much does junk removal cost in Dania Beach?
The price follows the share of the truck your load fills, with heavy material such as tile or concrete priced by weight as well. A single recliner is a small load and a whole mobile home cleanout is a large one. A photo usually lets us price it before a time is booked; see junk removal cost for the details.
Does Dania Beach collect bulk trash before a hurricane?
Not reliably. The city says bulk service may be interrupted or suspended before a storm, and that all curbside waste service stops up to 48 hours before landfall. Do not put a bulk pile out once a storm is forecast. If it has to go before the storm arrives, have it hauled away instead.
